an arbitrary but predefined number of sound sources, components and loudspeakers are assigned to an equal set of corresponding symbols (semicircles, bisected short lines and triangles respectively) printed on transparent sheets. these are dropped onto a piece of paper containing a single vertical line. their positioning in reference to a fourth kind of symbol (straight lines) combines these building blocks into sound systems. the physical orientation of any individual symbol (how it lies) designates its particular manner of play, whereas its location (where it lies) suggests the spatial arrangement of the sound.

players create one or more projects and put them into effect by means of operations. as the end of the performance draws closer, more diverse interpretations of the source material are permitted.

the recording at hand was created using 16 sound sources, 24 components and 15 loudspeakers constituting 6 sound systems.
